We bring you some great news in relation to our list of retained players for the 2023/24 season.
As soon as the last ball was kicked on the 22nd April, the club has worked hard to appoint a new manager and management team who bring tonnes of ambition and enthusiasm into the club ready for the brand new season.
The club worked hard to work looking through a host of applications and to make the appointment of Daniel Iredale. Daniel has met with the current squad and worked tirelessly to create a retained list.
Whilst thoughts turned to the upcoming season players were receiving unattainable offers from other local clubs and as a club we are obviously looking to progress and improve year on year, however, in order to do this it is important to build on the foundations that are already in place and set by the club to ensure that North Shields has a football club to come to in the future. To this end, one of Iredale’s first task was to keep the current squad together and then reinforce it.

North Shields FC manager Daniel Iredale spoke about the retained list;
“ It’s been a long week for everyone but I am delighted to see the togetherness in this group, which I have seen from day one, allow a large core of the squad to stick with each other and we couldn’t be more excited for the forthcoming season.
Now that we are settled as a squad I can look to make the few additions where needed, which will give me the chance to bring more good news to everyone.”
