After the disappointment of our midweek abandonment we turn our attention to this afternoon, when we welcome Boro Rangers to the Daren Persson Stadium.
Last season’s division two champions, have taken like a duck to water in the first division as they find themselves currently sitting in 4th place going into the game, they are currently on a three game winning streak and are unbeaten in their last games.
Through midweek, they entertained Pickering Town at their Lacy Road home in the North Riding Senior Cup, where they progressed with a 1-0 win. Owen Burns with the all important goal after 70 minutes. We were also scheduled to be in midweek action, however, the match official deemed the pitch unplayable an hour before kick off.
Brian Smith and his management team will be looking to get a first win under their belt, progress somewhat halted by bad weather and match postponed, however, in the games that we have been involved in, performances have improved despite the results not going our way, a bit more quality in the final third and the results may have been a whole lot different.
When the two sides met earlier in the season, on a cold November night, where 162 brave souls defied the elements to watch on as the Robins brought all 3 points back to North Tyneside with them courtesy of a 1-0 via a Connor Oliver back post header.
We hope that you can join us to get behind the lads, cheer them on and be that 12th man.
For those who are not able to make the game, updates will be available on our social media channels @northshieldsfc
