FA Vase fever is to hit the Daren Persson Stadium once more as the Robins welcome NWCFL Premier Division outfit West Didsbury & Chorlton with a place in the last 16 awaiting the victors.

With the late heroics of the last round still very much fresh in the mind of Robins supporters, the excitement levels have heightened as the game has got closer with the lure of a day out at Wembley that one step closer.

The Robins left it late in the previous round, a goal down with 5 minutes of normal time left plus time added on to play, Dan Waldon and Jordan Lashley turned the game on its head to knock out league leaders Redcar Athletic.

Our visitors progressed through the previous round with an emphatic 5-1 win over Silsden of the Northern Counties East Football League, a Jordan Lazenby hattrick and Lewis Billingsley and Billy Matthews with the goals.

The Robins were in midweek action as they welcomed Tow Law Town to the Daren Persson Stadium, resulting in a 4-1 win with goals from Lee Mason, Jordan Lashley, Dan Waldon and Nelson Ogbewe with Ben Dibb-Fuller with a consolation goal for the visitors.

Our opponents were last in action last Wednesday when they took on Chadderton in the Manchester Premier Cup, the game finished 2-2 with Chadderton progressing with 5-4 penalty shootout win.

A player to watch for our visitors is forward, Jordan Lazenbury, an integral part of the team, having found the back off the net 22 times so far this season.

We hope that you can join us for the game and cheer on the lads as they look to reach the last 16, if not, you can follow all the action as it happens via our social media channels @northshieldsfc
