Current League Position: 3rd

Last Season’s Finish: 1st Place – Division Two

A Christmas cracker is in store for Boxing Day as 6th place takes on 3rd place as Blyth Town are the visitors to the Daren Persson Stadium.

Brian Smith’s side all appear to be singing from the same hymn sheet as at the weekend they recorded a nine consecutive win in all competitions, the last defeat coming back in early November to Crook Town.

A run which has seen them advance to the fourth round of the FA Vase and third round of the Brooks Mileson Memorial League and a place in the top 6, ust 4 points behind top spot with 2 games in hand on the teams around them.

Saturday gone saw the Robins make it back to back wins over Redcar Athletic just 7 days apart, an episode of Deja Vu some may say, as Bradley Fewster gave the hosts the lead at the start of the second half, before Dan Waldon and Jordan Lashley turned the game on it’s head just as they had 7 days prior.

Having made a bright start to their maiden voyage in the Northern League first division, a positive start heading into the Christmas period sat in 3rd place, Gavin Fell’s side inclusive of a number of familiar faces to Robins fans will be looking to change their fortunes of late, having picked up just 1 win in their last 5 games, a 5-1 demolition of West Auckland Town, on Saturday they found themselves on the wrong end of 5-0 scoreline as they played hosts to Shildon, all 5 goal coming in the first half securing the win for the Railwaymen.

We hope that you can join us to cheer on the lads, if not, you can follow the action as it happens via our live match updates @northshieldsfc
