North Shields FC can today confirm that midfielder Will McCamley, who joined the club in June 2024, has been offered and accepted a scholarship to continue his football and academic journey in the United States with Carolina Univeristy in North Carolina.
Will’s time at the club, though short, has left a lasting impression. Will made 69 appearances to date scoring 19 times. A hard-working and technically gifted player, he quickly became a valued member of the squad and showed real commitment to both training and matchdays. His professionalism, attitude, and desire to improve made him a popular figure in and around the dressing room. Will also quickly became a fans favourite with his quick feet and eye for goal.
While we are naturally disappointed to lose a player of Will’s quality, we are equally proud to see him take the next step in his career. The opportunity to study and play abroad is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of Will’s dedication on and off the pitch.
Manager Bri Smith commented:
“Will’s been a credit to himself and the club since day one. He’s got great potential and a fantastic attitude, and we’re all delighted he’s earned this opportunity. We’ll be keeping an eye on his progress across the pond and wish him nothing but success.”
Everyone at North Shields FC would like to thank Will for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him all the very best for his exciting new chapter in the USA.
