North Shields FC is a club with the community at its heart on the rise to the Northern Premier League and are looking for a voluntary Programme Editor to assist the Media Department.
The Voluntary Programme Editor will be responsible for creating content fit for publication in the Club’s matchday programme. This post would be ideal for a retired Editor with a passion for football or a University undergraduate studying Journalism or Marketing.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME EDITOR
We’re looking for a creative and dedicated volunteer programme editor to take control of creating content, working with existing and new volunteer content creators to produce a high-quality matchday programme in print and digital formats for the 2022/23 season.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Head of Media, on behalf of the Football Club Committee the successful applicant will be responsible for the planning and creation of the official North Shields FC matchday programme for the 2022/23 season.
- Design and create the template for the 2022/23 matchday programme
- Plan and create exciting and engaging content
- Liaise with new and existing volunteer content creators to ensure content is supplied to a high standard and within agreed deadlines
- Liaise with the Head of Media and club committee to ensure the programme is designed to a high standard, and includes all relevant artwork and images
- Ensure programme is proof-read and supplied to the printers in the correct format in ample time for print
Skills Required
Essential
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills
- Articulate and a high level of creative writing skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Can commit to producing a match programme for every North Shields FC home game during the 2022/23 season
- Knowledge of word processing applications such as Microsoft Word and/or Google Docs
Desirable
- Experience of editing and proof-reading
- Good knowledge of North Shields FC and non-league football
- Experience of using Adobe Suite of programmes, including InDesign
- Working with a team of content producers/volunteers
