Thank you Ryan Carr

North Shields FC can confirm that Ryan Carr has left the club due to travel commitments and will be signing for another local club.

Ryan made 274 appearances scoring 75 goals since signing from Garforth Town FC. The midfielder with a keen eye for goal who has progressed through the ranks at AFC Farsley is leaving The Robins at the conclusion of the 2021/22 season.

The midfielder who ALWAYS scores important goals with a few notable goals including THAT goal at St James Park in the Northumberland Senior Cup final.

Here is what Ryan spoke about after making his decision to leave the club,

“ After much deliberation, I’ve sadly decided to leave North Shields FC due to the difficulty of travel commitments. It’s been an incredibly tough decision, as North Sheilds FC has been a huge part of mine and my families life over the last 9 years.

I take away friendships, experiences and memories that I’ll cherish forever. From winning division two, lifting the FA Vase at Wembley, scoring the winner in the Senior Cup final and topping it off with a division one title – what a ride!

I’ve loved every minute of my time at Shields, I can’t thank the committee, management and players enough. And it goes without saying, the fans – your support is unmatched.

All the best for next season.

Up the Robins!

Carrsy”

Manager Marc Nash reflected on his time with Ryan,

“Ryan has been a tremendous servant to the club for the past 9 years. He’s leaves with a tremendous haul of winners medals including 1st and 2nd division league winners, a senior Cup and an FA Vase. Like Gary, our success with promotion has caused casualties because of the extra travel but I’m sure Ryan has thought long and hard about his decision. His goalscoring ability and tactical awareness cemented his place during my time in charge and he’s been a cornerstone to our success. Such is his age we hope he gets the chance the pull on the Shields shirt at some stage in the future under improved circumstances.”

Please joining the committee in wishing Ryan Carr all the very best with his new club and indeed his future!!
