North Shields Football Club are absolutely delighted to officially announce the return of prolific centre-forward Dan Wilson to the Daren Persson Stadium ahead of the upcoming Northern League campaign.
The powerful striker returns to The Daren Persson Stadium to bolster the Robins’ attacking options, bringing with him a wealth of higher-level experience, physical dominance, and a proven track record of scoring vital goals across the North East non-league circuit.
Wilson is a figure who needs no introduction to the North Shields faithful. A talismanic presence during his previous spells in red and white, he made well over 100 appearances for the club. Most notably, Wilson etched his name into modern club folklore during our historic Northern League Division One title-winning season, finishing as the club’s top goalscorer and famously netting a clinical brace against rivals Whitley Bay on Good Friday to help secure the championship.
Since his previous stint with the Robins, Wilson has continued to refine his reputation as one of the region’s most feared marksmen. He features a stellar CV that includes impactful spells with Newcastle Blue Star, Northern Premier League side Blyth Spartans, and most recently, a highly successful stint leading the line for Dunston UTS.
His return marks a major statement of intent for North Shields FC as the management team builds a squad capable of competing at the very top of the table.
Reaction from the North Shields FC Management Team:
“We are absolutely over the moon to bring Dan back to the club. He is a proven winner, a clinical finisher, and a player who understands exactly what it means to pull on the North Shields shirt. His hold-up play, aerial presence, and leadership in the dressing room will be invaluable for us.
The fans already know exactly what he is capable of, and we know how excited they will be to see ‘Big Dan’ leading the line once again. He had plenty of offers on the table, so we are delighted he has chosen to come home.”Player Reaction – Dan Wilson:
“I’m absolutely buzzing to be back. North Shields has always felt like home to me, and some of the best moments of my football career have happened right here in front of these fans. The club has great ambitions, and after speaking with the management team, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I can’t wait to get back out on the pitch at the Daren Persson Stadium and start hitting the back of the net again.”
Welcome back to North Shields, Dan!
