NEW SIGNING: The Robins capture the signing of Potter

North Shields Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Potter from Hebburn Town.

Potter, made 63 appearances for Hebburn since joining in 2019. Potter has also featured for Morpeth and Whitley Bay.

The midfielder will be linking back up with Marc Nash and Anthony Woodhouse who he played under at Whitley Bay. The manager said,

I gave him his Northern League debut at Whitley and from there he went on to win the Northern Premier League and Northumberland FA Senior Cup with Morpeth in 2019 and then the 2020 FA Vase and promotion with Hebburn Town.

Tom can play a number of attacking positions and will add assists and goals to the squad.

Speaking on his first interview for the club Tom said,

I am really forward to getting started and carrying on the success that North Shields had last season.

I am excited and I am a local lad, and have known Nashy and Woody for years and they can’t speak highly enough of everyone here and especially the fans which I can’t wait to play in front of in a new league and new challenge for the them and the club.

Looking back at his time at Hebburn and Morpeth Tom couldn’t speak highly enough saying,

I’ve had a good few years at Hebburn and a successful spell and before that won this league with Morpeth so hoping I can bring that experience of the league to help us achieve as much we can this year.

When asked about what Tom is looking to achieve this year he said,

In terms of targets I always have my personal ones which I’ll keep to myself, but as a team I think we have what it takes to give it a good go this year and look to win all our games we go into.

Welcome to North Shields, Tom!
