NEW SIGNING: Larmouth joins The Robins

North Shields Football Club are delighted to announce he signing of Callum Larmouth.

The club is delighted to announce that Northern League Young Player of the year Callum Larmouth has signed permanently for the club after beating many clubs for his signature.

The striker had a fantastic season scoring 30 goals last season and has already notched 12 this season and showing he is proving to be one of the best strikers around.

Manager Marc Nash said;

“ Callum is a player I know well having spent a year at college. He went off the football radar for a bit and is kind of a late starter at step 5 but he had some impact in his first season last year when he scored his 30th goal of the season against us on the day we lifted the trophy.

Dan Wilson and Callum on the pitch that day had 70 goals between them and Callum is up there in the scoring charts again proving his consistency. I’m delighted he’s joined us after a whole host of clubs had been chasing him. He will offer something different to our attack and is not afraid to shoot so I think the fans with enjoy this exciting style.”

The forward joins us from West Allotment Celtic which was always a highly anticipated fixture between the two sides in the Northern League and when asked about the games Callum said,

“North Shields have always been a team who produce and that was proven last season when they smashed the league and got promoted, I always loved playing against them as it was competitive and a good game for the fans.”

North Shields is a club rich in history and have recently been promoted to the highest level in over 50 years, how proud are you to be wearing the North Shields badge on your shirt?

“ I’m excited to play for the club and can’t wait to get started.”

You are familiar to Marc Nash through playing with TyneMet Football Academy – how pleased are you to be reunited with him knowing how he knows how you play and your strengths?

“ I’m excited to be back under Nashy as he was my college coach and knows me to a T, so I’m sure he can get the best out of me.”

You made your senior debut in football for West Allotment at just 16 after coming through the ranks of Newcastle East End – How grateful are you for West Allotment giving you the chance of your senior debut?

“West Allotment will always be a club I support and follow, who knows where I would have been if Jay (Manager) never give me a chance. All the coaches and players are like family to me and I will always be cheering them on no matter what!”

We have a mix of experienced players and some talented youngsters – how do you see yourself fitting into the side?

“It’s good to see a mix of young and older lads in the squad, I’m used to playing with older lads as I was at academies when I was younger so I know how it feels to try impress the more experienced ones. I’m sure I can teach a few things to the younger lads but also learn from not just the older ones but everyone in the squad, the younger ones I have seen and played against are very very good so it’s not just about age where I will be learning from.”

What would you say your greatest qualities as a striker / teammate are?

“With me I can be both playmaker and goalscorer, I like to think I’m not more of the other because I can play in any attacking position.”

What are your ambitions for team the upcoming season?

“My ambitions for the club is to definitely help out where I’m needed and push this club as high as possible. I have no doubt we will do that as they have an insane fan base and talented squad already!”

Do you have any targets for yourself?

“My targets for myself would definitely be to score goals as this is what I’ve done last season and this season so would be good to keep that up!”

Finally, you are chairman for the day! What would your squad look like? What formation would your team play, where would they play & who would your manager be?
