Our third feature in the “Meet the New Teams” series focuses on a side who climbed impressively in recent years but now return to Step 5 after a challenging campaign at the higher level — Newton Aycliffe.

📍 Who Are They? Newton Aycliffe are a well‑established County Durham club with a strong community identity and a proud history in the Northern League. Their rise to Step 4 in the 2022/23 season was a major milestone, showcasing the club’s ambition and momentum.

📉 Last Season Recap After two seasons in the Northern Premier League East Division, Aycliffe found themselves battling at the wrong end of the table throughout 2025/26. They finished 21st with 36 points, confirming relegation back to Step 5.
