MATCH REPORT: Dominant Performance Secures Victory for Robins

A brace from Nelson Ogbewe and neat finishes from Stephen Hall and Reagan Paterson saw Brian Smiths’ side record their first away win of the season.

A dominant performance from the very first whistle which saw the Robins create a flurry of chances but found themselves frustrated as the first half wore on.

Dean Holmes unleashed a rocket of an effort from all of 40 yards out, forcing the Crook keeper to scramble across his goal.

Stephen Hall had the best chance of the first half to break the deadlock, reacting quickest from the ball rebounding off the post only to fire over from close range.

On the brink of half time, the breakthrough came for the Robins, a great run from Slater, skipping his way through the home defence before floating the ball to the back post, where Ogbewe was on hand to head home from close range.

Not relying on the single goal to win the contest, the Robins came flying out of the blocks at the start of the second half, the first chance falling to Suddick, who saw his effort guided into the back of the net by Ogbewe to grab his and the Robins second of the evening.

A few minutes later it was game over as the Robins grabbed their third, a neat move down the right hand side, then worked into the middle, where Hall was on hand to provide the finish and open his account for the season.

Despite a number of changes, there was no restbite for the hosts as the Robins continued to press on the front foot.

Leaving the best til last, the fourth and final goal for the Robins was the pick of the bunch, Mason turning and driving towards goal before cutting the home defence open with an inch perfect pass into the path of Regan Paterson who showed calmness and precision to chip the keeper from the edge of the area.

The final whistle brought an end to the proceedings with the Robins worthy winners, making it to wins on the bounce with back to back clean sheets.

The lads turn their attention to Saturday, with another tricky test in store as Northallerton Town are the visitors to the Daren Persson Stadium.
