MATCH PREVIEW: The Robins open up against a Seaton Delaval

North Shields Football Club begin their long-awaited preseason campaign when they travel to Northern Alliance Premier Division side Seaton Delaval.

After a lot of hard work from Marc, Woody and Swinny, a large number of last season’s squad have been retained alongside some quality additions such as Scott McCarthy, Kyle Patton and Wayne Buchanan to name a few.

The Robins will be put through their paces on Saturday by a Seaton Delaval side who will be looking to improve upon their 13th place finish last season.

Coached by David Holmes, Seaton collected nine wins, three draws and 18 losses from their 30 league fixtures last season, scoring 44 goals but conceding 90.

With temperatures set to hit 16’c, Saturday’s match represents an early opportunity for Marc to take a look at his squad in action ahead of the 2019/20 Northern League Division One Season.

Manager Marc Nash spoke before the game; “Everyone is looking forward to the game and it’s usually a very good playing surface which is important. It’s obviously very early days in terms of pre season and it feels like a bit of a reward for the hard work that’s been put in so far. There’s been a lot of holidays in the early part so some are further on than others in terms of fitness but there’s no substitute to playing games.”

The admission price for Saturday will be £3 for Adults £1-50 for OAP under 16 free with paying Adult
