Tomorrow night we welcome Carl Jarrett’s Redcar Athletic to the Daren Persson Stadium.

Another tough test for Brian Smith’s side as the Steelmen are one of only two sides not to suffer a defeat in the league so far this campaign, picking up 23 points from their first 9 games, winning 7, drawing 2.

Saturday saw the Steelmen share the spoils with Blyth Town in a 1-1 draw, Bradley Fewster leveling from the penalty spot in the 75th minute after Blyth Town had taken the lead through Liam Wotherspoon early on in the second half.

The Robins come into the game full of confidence after a magnificent display at the weekend, coming from behind to take all 3 points off Shildon at Dean Street, Leighton Harrison gave the Railwaymen the lead in the 8th minute, Ryan Carr drew the Robins level in the 36th minute, Dan Waldon producing the winner in the 63rd minute, ensuring that the points came back to North Tyneside.

Last season when the two side met at the Daren Persson Stadium, the two sides contested an entertaining affair, which finished 2-2, Tom McIntyre and Dan Turner gave the Robins a two-goal lead, Redcar Athletic fought back with a brace from Matty Tymon, the drama didn’ end there as Redcar finished the game with 9 men and the Robins 10, after 3 red cards were produced over the course of the 90 minutes.

We hope that you can join us for the game and cheer on the lads, if not you can follow us on our social media channels @northshieldsfc for updates.
