Tomorrow night the Robins part-take in some Friday night football action as they make the short journey up the coast road to take on Newcastle Benfield at Sam Smith’s Park.

Both teams were in FA Vase action last weekend, our opponents were on the road as they visited Bracken Edge the home of Yorkshire Amatuer, the Lions lost 3-1 to the Northern Counties East Division One outfit, Aidan Healy with a late consolation after Brimo Diallo and Amari Smith gave the homeside a two goal lead inside 15 minutes before Diallo got his second of the afternoon with 15 minutes remaining.

The Robins played hosts to Billingham Town at the Daren Persson Stadium, advancing to the First Round proper with a 3-0 win, Dan Waldon opening the scoring on the half hour mark, Ryan Carr doubling the lead 5 minutes later, youngster Mavis Adaowo bagging his first Robins goal in second half stoppage time sealing the win.

Last season when the two side met at Sam Smith’s Park, the two sides played out a 3-3 draw, the Lions taking the lead through Callum Guy in the 16th minute, the Robins drawing level on the half mark via a Tom Potter penalty, Connor Gales gave the Robins the lead just after the hour mark, Dennis Knight replied for the hosts before taking the lead with 10 minutes left through Connor Walker, David Palmer securing a share of the spoils making it 3-3 in the 95th minute.
