MATCH PREVIEW: Liversedge FC (H)

The Robins look forward to FA Vase action this weekend, in a third-round tie at the Darren Persson Stadium against Liversedge FC.

North Shields FC were resilient in our last game, claiming a point on the road at Penrith. The game ended 2-2. Forward Reece Wanless opened the scoring before Penrith answered with two goals in seven minutes. Jordan Lashley came off the bench and made a huge impact, winning a penalty late on and converting it himself.

Liversedge FC plays in the Northern Counties East Premier League, which is on equal footing with our league (Northern League First Division) in terms of its place in the non-league pyramid. The West Yorkshire club is currently top of their league by seven points, despite playing three fewer games than second and third place.

Liversedge have won their last five games, their most recent being a hard-fought 3-2 win in the Northern Counties East League Cup against Pickering Town. It’s going to be a test for our Robins, as Liversedge have lost only one league game so far this season (Handsworth 2-1 Liversedge, Wed 6th August).

If you’re attending the game this weekend, or thinking about coming down for the first time, we at the club appreciate and thank you all for your continued support.
