After a well-deserved two-week rest, the Robins are back in action at the Daren Persson Stadium against high-flying Kendal Town.
Kendal Town comes to visit, sitting third in the league table, on level points with fourth-placed Whitley Bay. They’ll be looking to keep adding points to their tally in the hopes their rivals slip up in their last few games, including a couple of games in hand.
After a dip in form produced some questionable results over the last few weeks, Kendal seemed to have regained their scoring aptitude. A recent 4-2 win at home to Birtley Town looks to have raised spirits for the Mintcakes, just in time for a trip to Brian Smith’s North Shields FC. New signing DJ Taylor, who joined in January from Cumbrian rivals Penrith, has scored five goals in six games with the club.
Kendal Town also has three new additions to boast of. Over the last week, they have signed Matty Clarke on a dual registration from Lancaster City FC, and Jack Porter and Alessio Ruocco from Carlisle United and Fleetwood Town respectively.
Our Robins have had a couple of weeks off matchdays to clear our heads and get back to winning ways. Disappointment last time out at home to Crook Town came from a poor attacking display and the visitors putting away their chances. Reece Wanless found himself on the scoresheet, but it wasn’t enough to claw back a result from the game.
All is left to play for in the league, as it comes into the final weeks of the season, it’s sure to be a wild ride. If you’re thinking about coming to the game on Saturday, please come and support the lads and break our attendance goal of 600!
Thank you all for your continued support!
