MATCH PREVIEW – Chadderton

It’s a huge occasion this week for our Robins, as we’re back in action in the FA Vase against Chadderton FC.

Chadderton FC is based in Oldham and plays in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division. They are currently 8th in the league, chasing the playoff positions.

In their last six games, Chadderton have won four and suffered two defeats, boasting an impressive win by penalties in their last game in the FA Vase. Their league form is on equal footing with ours, sitting in mid-table with a high possibility of making a playoff run.

Although our Robins haven’t played an official game since Boxing Day, we recently beat Blyth Spartans in a behind-closed-doors friendly. Two goals from the returning Stephen Hall and another by Nelson Ogbewe saw us come out 3-1 winners against strong opposition.

Shields are chomping at the bit to get back into official action, and what a spectacle for a triumphant return. The Robins are looking to progress to the last 16 in the FA Vase and make another trip to Wembley, as we did in 2015.

If you’re making the 3-hour trip to the game, we hope to see you there, together showing our support for the lads that are keeping our Vase hopes alive.

Thank you for all of your support!
