Hello and welcome back!
It still feels like yesterday that we saw the Robins celebrate lifting the League Cup at Hillheads, yet the 2026-27 season is already upon us. So far Brian Smith has bolstered his side with four permanent signings as Dan Wilson, James Sloan, Carter Millmore (after a successful loan spell last season) and Darren Lough all join us.
As for the hosts, they finished 10th in the Northern football Alliance last campaign, and they’ve made a plethora of summer transfers as they look to improve on that this time around.
Stephen Oliver, Harrison Nisbit, Leon Elgie, Luke Barber, Sean Roper, Owen Crosland, Ethan Dobson, and Joel Jones have all joined the Villagers for the ride so far.
With so many new (and returning) faces available for both sides, it’ll be interesting to see who makes the starting XI for this one.
