After booking our place in the semi-final of the Brooks Milesson Memorial League Cup, it’s time to look ahead to our last game of the 25/26 Ebac Northern League Division One season, away to Newcastle Blue Star.
Newcastle Blue Star have been playing some great football over the last few weeks, which meant that after last weekend’s disaster, they leapfrogged us and sit in 7th place. They have won their last seven games in a row and have scored a whopping 18 goals in the process.
Sean Reid and Daniel Lanning are the dynamic duo in this Blue Star side. Between them, they’ve scored 33 of Blue Star’s 79 goals this season between them, and they have been the driving force behind their astonishing run of good form.
Brian Smith will be happy with the result on Tuesday night, however he did note in our interview with him that he believe the Robins had a few wake up calls before Dan Waldon sealed the game for us in the second half.
It could have been a very different game; one moment that changed the entire affair was Grangetown’s Fam Jatta putting a penalty kick wide of the Shields net. If that had been converted, the match would have proved a lot harder for North Shields.
The last game of the season is an important one, and we need your support to see us over the line. We hope to see you today!
HOWAY THE ROBINS!
