North Shields has a Coast Road derby this Saturday against Walkergate rivals Newcastle Benfield. Both teams sit in the middle of the table, three points separate our Robins in tenth and the Lions in 13th.
Both teams have a nearly identical record across the entire season. Newcastle Benfield has won their last two games and will be looking to keep their momentum going. They’ve only played seven games out of 21 at home this season, and wish to turn the MKM Stadium into a fortress.
The Robins have a good record away from the Darren Persson Stadium, claiming five wins and three draws out of 11 games on the road. Both teams will be looking for bragging rights in this derby; however, Newcastle Benfield won the last meeting between the two by a convincing three-nil in August.
