Tomorrow we make the short trip through the Tyne Tunnel as we take on Seaham Red Star at the Independent Utility Advice Arena.

Going into the contest Brian Smith’s side find themselves looking to get out of a sticky patch, having lost the last 4 games.  In midweek, it was a night to forget for Robins fans, losing 7-2 to local rivals Whitley Bay, a strong first half performance before a collapse at the end of the first half, saw the young Robins go in at the break 3-0 down, a bright start to the second half was quickly diminished when the hosts got their fourth, a brief lifeline was presented when Will McCamley pulled one back with over half an hour left to play, only for the hosts to add another two goals before Dan Savage was quickest to capitalize on a mistake at the back to make it 6-2, in stoppage time the hosts added a 7th to cap off a disappointing night.

Our visitors for tomorrow’s game, find themselves currently sat in 17th place, coming into the game with just a draw in their last 5 games, which came in their last outing away to Whickham on Tuesday night. Former Robin Brad Chisholm giving the Star the lead, before Scott Robson replied for the Lang Jacks, the Star retook the lead through Lewis Rutherford on the hour mark, before Scott Robson doubled his tally for the evening to draw Whickham level.

When the two sides met earlier in the season, it was on the opening day of the season, where the Robins ran out 3-0 winners courtesy of goals from David Palmer x2 and Anth Myers ensuring that all 3 points remained in North Tyneside.

We hope that you can join us to cheer on the lads in this Wear-Tyne derby as we look to get back to winning ways. For those who can’t make the game, you can follow updates as the action unfolds on social media @nortshieldsfc
