Tomorrow we are on the road once again as we visit Redcar Athletic at Green Lane.

Our hosts were meant to be in midweek action against table toppers Bishop Auckland but fell victim to weather despite the best efforts of club volunteer’s.

Last time out, the Steelmen were defeated by West Allotment Celtic at Green Lane, 3 goals to 1, Layton Watts on target for Redcar with Cyril Giraud netting a brace and Luke Parkinson on target for Allotment.

The Robins found themselves in action during the week with a midweek trip to Carlisle City coming away with a share of the spoils and extending the unbeaten run to 3 games with a 1-1 draw, a dominant display with control for most of the game but unable to convert on chances created, capitalized on by the hosts who took the lead in the second half, somewhat against the run of play but Shields were able to draw level through Will McCamley.

When the two sides met earlier in the season, it was a game of drama with 4 goals scored and 3 red cards produced. The Robins taking the lead through Tom McIntyre, resulting in Redcar’s custodian Jack Norton seeing red for dissent after 30 minutes, Matty Turner drew the visitor’s level as we approached half time only for Dan Turner to regain the Robins lead before the break. Matty Tymon then got his and the Steelmens’ second of the afternoon to draw them level with 15 minutes left on the clock, in the dying embers of the game, the visitor’s were reduced to 9 as Daniel Boyle was giving his marching orders. A minute later, Luke Salmon saw Red after a bizarre series of events.

Another great game is in store and we hope you join us to cheer on the lads as they look to bring home with us the all important 3 points.
