Wednesday night see’s Birtley Town visit the Daren Persson Stadium for our second game of the 2024/25 campaign.
After an opening draw with Easington, the Robins reside in 12th place in the standings going into the contest, the Robins went into the break with a two goal advantage after goals from Will McCamley and Jamies Holmes.
The hosts battled hard and were awarded for their efforts, drawing level in stoppage time to start the opening day with a point, former Robin Brad Hard on target and Mark Davision with the equalizer.
Our visitors for this game were defeated on the opening day at the hands of Penrith, who ran out 3-0 winners. A brace from DJ Taylor and Luke Brown securing the win, Penrith were reduced to 10 men late after Luke Irving was sent off.
When the two sides met at the Daren Persson Stadium last stadium, the Robins ran out 3-1 winners with goals from Regan Patterson, David Palmer and Tom Potter, Alex Francis on target for the hoops.

The postcode of the stadium is NE29 0SS. Some limited parking spaces can be found at the stadium and there is plenty and free street parking on West Percy Road adjacent to the stadium.
By the Tyne & Wear Metro
Tyneside is well served by a light rail system known as the Tyne & Wear Metro. North Shields is easily accessible from Newcastle City Centre from Monument station where trains to the Coast go via North Shields. The Daren Persson Stadium is served by two stops, Meadow Well (5 minutes’ walk) or North Shields (10 minutes’ walk).
By Bus
The 306 & 307 bus service from Newcastle City Centre (Haymarket Bus Station) to Tynemouth runs within close proximity to the stadium. The stadium is located off Waterville Road (East).
