PLAYER INTERVIEW: Tom Potter ” We need to win as many games as we can!”

Welcome to North Shields FC, what are your thoughts since joining the side?

My thoughts since joining are excited to get going and start meeting everyone in and around the club since joining I’ve been away on holiday and now back and can’t wait to get going.

You have experience of playing higher up the pyramid – how can that be beneficial for NSFC?

I think the experience of league will be of help with the club being new to this level I know the clubs etc who will be playing so will look to give Nashy and the management team any information on the teams I can.

You’ve played for Nashy previously, how excited are you to be playing for him again?

Yeah I am really excited as I know him (Marc Nash) and Woody well and have known them for years so more importantly they know how to get the best out of me.

We have a mix of experienced players and some talented youngsters – how do you see yourself fitting into the side?

At 26 now I probably come in as an experienced one now, lol, so will look to help the younger ones as much as possible and hopefully add as much as I can t the team.

What are your ambitions for team the upcoming season?

Ambitions for this year I know it sounds daft but to win as many games as possible and see where we finish I think we have a lot of quality to do very well in the league.

Do you have any targets for yourself?

Yeah I have my own targets but keep these to myself but I expect a lot and set them as high as possible.

Finally, you are Chairman for the day, you get to create your very own football team. You have overall say in everything that happens. What would be your Starting XI, Formation, Manager, Stadium?

Honestly think I would pick Man City’s team and their manager and just add Messi in there somewhere haha they’re just too good and play exactly how I would like my team too but would have to play at St James Park, obviously.
