North Shields Football Club operates with a dedicated team of volunteers. A lot of the volunteers sit on a Committee which coordinates the running and organisation of the football club.

Committee Members

Alan Matthews

Took the reins in 1994 and steadied the ship after a turbulent period. Recruitment manager for an oil rig construction company for 25 years. Retired now, devoting his time to the club and his grandchildren.

Trevor Campbell
Deputy Chairman

Trevor moved North after graduating from University. Met Mike Taylor when their children were delivered at the old Willington Quay maternity hospital. Spends hour after hour working at the ground now he’s retired.

Mike Taylor

Mike is a long time Shields supporter following in his father Jack’s shoes. He has followed Shields from being a child. In his retirement, he now spends every day at the ground keeping it in tip top condition.

Sean Redford

Took on the role as Football Club Secretary in 2015. Sean is well known around the Footballing world. Sean is well respected at the club and works hard behind the scenes.


Sean Mulligan
Head of Media

Sean took over as Head of Media in the June of 2018. He is heading an enthusiastic team. Sean is a Primary Education graduate at The University of Sunderland.

Steve Arkle
Commercial Manager

Steve is overseeing the commercial side of the club including all things sponsorship and many more things.


Mick Woodhouse
Stadium Manager

Mick has lived in North Shields all his life, joining the committee in 2012. He’s a handy man to have around the place & is always keen to chip in. Dad of assistant manager Anthony, Mick has been a familiar face since 2008.

Carl Redhead
Commercial Team

Carl is working on the commercial team of the club including all things sponsorship and many more things.


Steve Nicholson
Committee Member

Steve ‘Boppa’ Nicholson volunteers his time as a member of the committee. Can usually be found in the clubhouse having a drink or two.


Bob Scott
First Team Liaison

Mr Football himself, Bob knows everything you need to know about football, tactics, formation, scouting. A real useful body to have around with lots of experience behind him to give everyone that extra boost.


Sam Cave
Lottery Manager

Sam has been involved with the club since he was a young lad as grandson of gateman Joe. His passion is North Shields & he’s a regular home & away, usually with a couple of pals. Strapping lad to help setup the goalposts!


Joe Cave
Gateman / Kitman

The public & sometimes grumpy face of North Shields Football Club. Been at the club for centuries some rumour & always a great bloke to have around the place. Full of stories & last to the bar. Retired from decorating business.

Terry Reed
Committee Member

Terry joins the committee bringing a wealth of knowledge. Terry will also be heading up the kit man team!

Other Key Officials

Malcolm Macdonald

“Super Mac” was a Newcastle & Arsenal legend & later a radio pundit. He’ll do anything for the Robins & became involved with the club at the request of the chairman, a child-hood friend of Malcolm’s wife Carol.

Chris Chambers

Chris is a new addition to the team and will be working as the official club photographer. North East Wedding, Studio, Pet and Sports Photographer. Studio based in Ellington, Northumberland. Want more info?

Dom Walker
Media Officer

Dom is the newest recruit to North Shields FC and joins the club helping with the media team.
