Tonight the Robins make a midweek trip to North Yorkshire to take on Northallerton Town at the Calvert Stadium as Brian Smith’s side turn their focus back to the league.
Both teams were in FA Vase action at the weekend, our hosts for this evening’s game, hosted Route One Rovers of the North West Counties Division One North League. Rovers ran out 2-1 winners, Austin O’Horo gave them the lead before Alistair Banks drew Northallerton level before the break, Hunain Rouf scoring what proved to be the winner on the hour mark.
The Robins were the visitors to Mo Mowlam Memorial Park to take Redcar Town of the Second Division, a comfortable win for the Robins with a brace from Ryan Carr in the second half, after Will McCamley and Lewis Suddick gave the Robins a two goal cushion before the break.
When Shields last visited the Calvert Stadium, they ran out 1-0 winners, Brad Chisholm with the goal just after the hour mark.
Both sides have made somewhat similar starts to their league campaign, the Robins occupying 12th place and Northallerton occupying 14th with 1 point separating the two sides.
We hope that you can join us for the game and cheers on the lads, if not, you can follow updates of the action as it happens via our social media channels @northshieldsfc
