FIRST TEAM BACKROOM STAFF CONFIRMED

North Shields FC are delighted to welcome James Barker (Assistant Manager), John Parker (First Team Coach), Jonny Ball (Goalkeeping Coach), Lewis Carr (Coach), Tiago Dores (Strength and Conditioning Coach) and Kathryn Henderson (Physiotherapist) to the Club as part of Daniel Iredale’s backroom team. 

Assistant Manager Barker joins Iredale in role which he has held for the past three seasons. James won the National College championship before gaining a full scholarship in America which lead him into coaching and playing at a high level and captained the College team before playing at club level in the USA. James then headed home and played Northern League football before heading into management with Iredale.

John Parker who rejoins the club this time as a First Team coach is a well known face and friendly figure to North Shields FC. John was apart of the FA Vase winning squad as well as a well known name in the starting XI since joining the club in. John has featured for Ryton & Crawcrook, West Auckland, Sunderland RCA, Blyth Town and Newcastle Blue Star. John retired from football due to an injury but has been coaching at Birtley FC. Parker made 174 appearances for The Robins scoring 8 goals from his primary position of centre back. John has had a successful playing career which included winning the FA Vase, winning the Northern League Division 2, Twice as well as winning the Northumberland FA Senior Cup.

Another familiar face joining The Robins is Goalkeeper coach, Jonny Ball. Jonny is a well known name and face in The Northern League as well as featuring for North Shields in 2012-2014 making 10 appearances between the sticks. Jonny started out at Newcastle United Academy before he joined Carlisle United in 2009. Jonny then featured for Gateshead before heading to play in Australia. On his return the goalkeeper spent 8 years in the Northern League playing for North Shields, Whitley Bay as well as West Auckland and Ryhope CW. Jonny won the Durham County Cup, Division 2 title and Division 2 League Cup.

Lewis Carr joins the new set up as coach of the first team. Lewis has been with manager, Iredale since day one and has held a number of roles. Lewis also has his goalkeeping coaching badges and will be a great help around the team.

Portugal born, Tiago Dores joins The Robins as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Tiago has helped individual althletes reach their potential of fitness levels across different sports and clubs. Some clubs where Tiago has been at include Hamilton FC, Huddersfield U23s, Wimbledon FC, Northumbria University, Newcastle Eagles, Newcastle Falcons Ryton & Crawcrook Albion as well as a range of clubs in Portugal including Portuguese Navy Football Club, Estrela da Amadora, Athletico de Portugal and Athletico du Cacem.

Finally rounding up the backroom team is Kathryn Henderson as the clubs Physiotherapist. Kathryn has currently got 17 years worth of experience as a Sports Therapist and Acupuncturist. She has worked with National 2 Rugby Squad, Ryton & Crawcrook as well as Durham Women FC. Kathryn still works for Durham University helping lots of athletes in Rugby, Rowing and Hockey performing at a GB level.
