A Robins Return for Callum Patton

North Shields are delighted to announce that Callum Patton has re-signed for the Robins from Division One rivals West Auckland Town.

Patton, whose brother Kyle is enjoying his second season with Shields, started the season with West, having departed Northern Premier League side Whitby Town in the summer.

This will be Callum’s second spell at the Daren Persson Stadium, having joined on loan from Whitby Town during the 2019/20 season. During that spell, Callum played five games, three as a starter and two from the bench, whilst scoring the late winner at home to Newton Aycliffe.

Callum is a central midfielder, however, he can play as a sitting midfielder or in a position further forward. He is also something of a great set piece taker.

The new addition has plenty of previous experience, having featured for Gateshead, Durham City, Whitley Bay, Bishop Auckland, before his spells with Whitby Town and West Auckland Town.

Speaking about the new addition, manager Marc Nash was delighted about having secured Patton’s return to the club.

“Callum Patton is a player we know very well. When we loaned him last year he was coming back after a long injury break. He showed glimpses of his class before going back to Whitby. Now fully fit we can welcome him back into the squad as a permanent signing and he will add guile and craft to our midfield. Hopefully the squad is now prepared for a brutal schedule to the end of the season.”

Patton is delighted to join the club. Speaking about joining Callum said,

“I’m over the moon to be back. It’s the only club that I was interested in signing for, I’m looking forward to enjoying my football again under Nashy and Woody and hopefully I can help the lads continue the run of good form they’re in.”

Welcome home Callum! #HowayTheRobins
