Nineteen sixty nine was a big year for North Shields FC. Not only did we win the FA Amateur Cup at Wembley, we also won the Coppa Ottorino Barassi (the European Amateur Cup-Winners’ Cup).
Today marks the 50th anniversary of that European Cup success, with the Robins sharing the cup with Almas Roma after both legs finished 2-0 in favour of either team.
