Newton Aycliffe 3 North Shields 1.  28/11/2009 17:56

Shields fell at the 13th attempt as the 12 match unbeaten run came to a shuddering end.
After going behind in the first half Shields equalised through Glen Taylor. Things took a turn for the worse when Farman was sent off after a second yellow for dissent. Robbie Livermore missed a penalty for Shields and it wasn't to be as The Robins ultimately went down 3-1. The chance for the players to redeem themselves on Wednesday with a second trip to Moore Park in 4 days.

Newton Aycliffe v North Shields (NL2).  26/11/2009 19:48

The Robins will be looking for a win as they travel to Newton Aycliffe for a Northern League fixture this Saturday (28th November, 15:00 kick off). The unbeaten run will stretch to an unlucky 13 if defeat is avoided.
After a hard fought draw at home to fellow promotion chasers Guisborough Town Woody will be looking for those returning to provide a boost. Top scorers Robbie Livermore and Brian Smith will be looking to add to their tally’s against a team who have already beaten Shields in the league cup at Moore Lane. Shields legend Andy Bowman is getting hitched and therefore misses the game (we think) and Woody will look a solitary figure on the bench as Graham Fenton is also unavailable. Femi Akinbolu also misses out. Injured are Locker, Elliott, Graham, Minto and Irvine alongside player manager Anthony Woodhouse who is nearing availability.
The hosts had a good win against West Auckland midweek and the good drainage on the Moore Park pitch alongside a favourable weather forecast means this one should go ahead without any problems.
In the middle of a difficult spell Shields need to put in an attacking performance and whilst a draw would be a good result too many draws would see The Robins fall behind in the chase for the top three.

Dennis Livermore.  24/11/2009 12:18

Dennis Livermore has left North Shields after finding first team opportunities hard to come by. He made 22 starts for the Robins and scored 2 goals in his spell but this season has been restricted to 7 goal-less appearances.
All at North Shields FC wish Dennis luck with his future.

North Shields 1 Guisborough Town 1.  21/11/2009 17:03

Honours even, Glen Taylor scored for shields. The unbeaten league run is now gone to 12 games and a depleted Robins did well to get a point and were perhaps a little unlucky not to get all 3.
Next up is two away trips to Newton Aycliffe in the league next Saturday and then in the E Armstrong Cup a week on Wednesday.

North Shields v Guisborough Town (NL2).  20/11/2009 20:39

North Shields aim to make it 12 unbeaten as a Guisborough Town team breathing down the necks of The Robins hit town (Saturday 21st, 15:00 kick off).
Despite having an almost full strength squad for the postponed game against Newton Aycliffe Woody is joined by Fenton, Locker, Smith, Femi, Irvine and Elliott on the unavailable list. Top scorer Robbie Livermore is also missing and his midfield presence will be missed. Mark Minto is also a late casualty. Woody is struggling to get 11 players out but the experience and quality in the squad is good and will put up a good performance.
Guisborough are on good form with four wins out of four, three of them away. With a number of difficult games coming up its crucial points are picked up at home.
This game won’t be easy and a win of any description will be well earned but with selection problems anything more than a defeat will be welcome.
