Crook Town 2 North Shields 2.  31/10/2009 19:19

The 10 game unbeaten run was achieved but only just at Millfield. Having been 2-0 down through most of the game The Robins were given a lifeline by ex-goalkeeper David Lanning who conceded a penalty and was sent off. Robbie Livermore converted. The drama went on to the final minute as gpalkeeper Michael Robinson scored his second of the month from a scissor kick. You couldn't script it.
Next up is Thornaby at home next Saturday (November 7th, 15:00 kick off).

Crook Town v North Shields (NL2).  29/10/2009 19:38

An eagerly trip to Millfield in Crook will see The Robins looking to extend their unbeaten league run to 10 games against fellow promotion rivals Crook Town (Saturday 31st, 3pm kick off).
Having thumped Seaham Red Star last week with a fine overall team performance Woody will be looking to turn the screw and cement the team in the top 3 and build a gap to the chasing pack. With Crook one of those breathing down Shields neck this is a game where defeat would be a big setback. Woody (Calf) and assistant Fenton (Calf) are long term out along with Locker (Achilles) and recent acquisition Joe Elliott from Cullercoats (Hamstring). Andy Hay returns from his Spanish adventure and will expect the Spanish inquisition regarding recent budgie fetish accusations. Phil Cartwright also returns having watched from the sidelines last time out. Scott McDonald sits out his final game of his suspension.
Crook have only won 1 in the last 6 at home and are clearly a better team on the road. Last time out was a 4-2 defeat at home to Newton Aycliffe.
The locals will be present in numbers and will back their team as normal but with The Robins now instilling fear in the opposition this game should once again prove to be an interesting and eventful road trip.

1st Goal v Seaham Red Star.  25/10/2009 16:13

The first goal against Seaham Red Star, originally stated as an own goal, has now been corrected to top scorer Robbie Livermore.

North Shields 6 Seaham Red Star 0.  24/10/2009 18:11

After threatening to hammer someone all season The Robins finally delivered as they thumped a Seaham Red Star team that had always proved difficult competition in the past.
After a bright start by the visitors it was left to Shields to dominate the rest of the half. An own goal opened the scoring as Robbie Livermore broke down the right and hammered the ball across the six yard line as the ball was bundled home by a hapless defender. The score was double soon afterwards as Brian Smith doubled the score with a looping header having been denied earlier by a fantastic save from his header.
Mark Minto made it three as he rounded the keeper to slot home and James Luccock buried the ball low past the keeper after being fed through well. Red Star came out in the second half looking to restore some pride and they did it through most of the half as they held the reds at bay and had a couple of half chances to reduce the deficit. Anthony Lowther, on as a substitute, converted a harsh penalty as a hand ball was adjudged and it was left to James Luccock late on to seal his brace and send the Red Ultras home happy.
This was the biggest win for a long time and a trip to Crook Town next week looks a lot less daunting than at lunch time today.

Glen Taylor Signs.  23/10/2009 20:15

The Robins have singed Ashington centre forward Glen Taylor. The former West Allotment player goes into the squad for the game tomorrow and has scored 1 goal in 1 start for Ashington this season.
