Northern League 1
Away Team
A match that needs no introductions. Its the El Coastico derby, as it has been dubbed and a rearranged match sees North Shields host Whitley Bay.

Shields returned to winning ways after a great 4-0 away victory over Seaham. Shields are on a great run having taken 46 points from 19 in the league, only losing once which was against Jarrow Roofing last weekend. But as far as derbies go, form tends to go out of the window.

Whitley Bay come into the game sitting 7th with 27 points from 18. There recent increase in form has saw The Bay rise the table dramatically and come in to the derby after a comfortable 3-1 victory over Guisborough.

With local pride at stake, McDonalds lads will have to be at their absolute best today, as Ian Chandler will undoubtedly want the same from his side. The reverse fixture saw Whitley open the scoring with Adam Shanks firing past Hayes then a header by Ryan Carr flew into the back of the net.

Then an identical Carr goal saw Shields go 2-1 up but sloppy play at the end of the game with the Robins failing to clear their lines left Alex Kempster free on the back post to flick the ball home. Both sides where left frustrated with the points shared. Supporters are advised to get there early to avoid queuing at the gate.

Enjoy the game!
