MESSAGE BOARD RULES
This board is an official board and is here at the request of the officials of North Shields and at the generosity of the club officials who supply the server to host the message board. It is not an "anything goes" board and as such you are reminded to read the posting rules before you post.
There is a warning/yellow & red card policy in place on this message board - breaking certain rules will earn you one or more of these. For a first offence, a warning will be issued by the referee (moderator). For a second offence a yellow card will be shown, meaning a 7 day ban from the message board. A third offence will incur a red card and a 30 day ban. If you are seen to be consistently breaking any rule or rules over a prolonged period of time, you may risk a permanent ban from the message board. The rules in question are as follows:
1. Abuse aimed at another message board user or official of North Shields Football Club (including abusive language and/or comments not in keeping with the tone of this “family” message board) will result in a warning/card/ban (as above). An immediate and permanent ban - whether warnings or yellow/red cards have previously been issued or not - will be given to any user who makes a post deemed to be threatening towards another board user or director/employee of North Shields Football Club. The moderators will only issue a warning or a yellow/red card where there is no doubt that a post is abusive. Should a post be made which is not directly abusive but is likely to cause offence, moderators will issue a polite warning to the board user in question. Should this warning not be heeded and the posting continues, the warning and yellow/red card rule will be enforced.
2. Any posting of offensive or inappropriate material – such as pornography, racist material or religiously offensive material – will be subject to an immediate and permanent ban. Placement of any material of this nature or links to such material in your avatar, signature or posts will not be tolerated. This is a football message board; please keep it that way.
3. Any thread containing a post or posts reported to be potentially libellous to North Shields Football Club, any other company/organisation or any individual will be removed and the user making the post will be given a warning/card/ban (as above).
4. Text speak is not considered to be "user friendly" on this message board. Please remember that there are users who do not understand text speak and there are some who may not even own a mobile phone. Any board user who unnecessarily uses text speak will be given a warning/card/ban (as above).
5. Any user who creates multiple accounts or uses an account created by another person to either deliberately influence the course of any thread, to continue posting when under a ban or for any other reason will be given a warning/card/ban (as above). Furthermore, anyone who allows another person to post under their user name will be given a warning/card/ban (as above).
6. The moderators moderate this board on behalf of all users but do it without payment and in their spare time. This means they may sometimes make mistakes but take their role seriously and without prejudice. Please understand that moderation is not always an easy task. Significant and controversial decisions are made by the moderators as a group rather than by any individual moderator.
7. The administrators and moderators will do their best to be even-handed and fair in all their decisions and are happy to give clarification on any specific point. However, the administrators/moderators decisions regarding warnings, yellow/red cards, bans and thread/post deletions are final.
8. Board users have the ability to delete any of their posts for up to 30 minutes after posting. Please be aware however, that the contents of your posts – even after they have been deleted – are still visible to the moderators.
Finally, everyone has opinions - most of them vary wildly. Nobody will be prevented from expressing their opinions as long as they are expressed without violating the above rules. Please make use of this board for what it is; a place for healthy discussion, a place to make new friends and a place to share a common love of our football club.
